Vidya Prasarak Mandal is a Public Trust and Charitable Society founded by natives of Dahisar, in 1962. The basic aim was to provide school education to local children.

The school, Vidya Mandir, was founded in 1962. From 89 students in 1962 to 4500 students in 2014, the school has come a long way in the past five decades.

Apart from the core activity of providing school education, the Mandal has many other activities such as Social Activities, Sports, Library circulation, Computer Section, Career counseling and Co-curricular activities. These activities are carefully designed for the benefits of the students, parents, staff and society in general.

One of the significant milestones in VPM’s roadmap has begun in 2007. The Mandal started the New School Building Project. The first phase is complete and 36 classrooms are operational since last three years. The second and last phase of this building has commenced now and in progress. The plan is to complete this phase by end of 2014.
